Core Skills

Learners use adaptive computer software daily to work progressively at their own level. Teachers support and reinforce core skills with project components and individual instruction.

Reading and Writing

I understand and appreciate the tremendous strengths of neurodivergent thinkers.

  • Sessions are 45 minutes, two or three times per week.
  • Online or in-person at my home office in Eugene (inquire for travel rates).
  • The Barton system incorporates a multi-sensory approach to reading and writing. Where appropriate, I include additional materials, games, and exercises designed to help in the areas of weakness. 
  • Research-based structured literacy approach.
  • I fundamentally believe everyone deserves reading and writing skills and that cost should never be a barrier, please inquire to discuss further.

Note:
It is not uncommon for students who experience reading and writing challenges, like dyslexia, to also have other neurodivergence like ASD or ADHD. I am experienced in helping all types of students and will work to customize sessions and accommodate all learning styles and needs.
